About:
Kull the Conqueror is a 1997 fantasy action film about the Robert E. Howard character Kull starring Kevin Sorbo. It is a movie adaptation of the Conan novel Conan the Conqueror, with the protagonist changed in the face of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s refusal to reprise his role as Conan and Kevin Sorbo not wanting to redo a character already played. (This is ironic, as the very first Conan story, “The Phoenix on the Sword”, is actually a rewrite of a Kull story.) Note however that a Kull story entitled “By This Axe I Rule” is very similar to the story line of this movie, and is a more likely basis for the movie.

Synopsis:
Inspired by the characters of Robert E. Howard (whose best-known creation was Conan The Barbarian), this epic tale of swords and sorcery stars Kevin Sorbo as Kull, a barbarian warrior who kills the King of Valusia in the midst of a battle; with his last breath, the monarch hands Kull his crown and names him as his successor. Kull soon learns that possessing great power brings you great enemies, as Taligaro leader of Valusia’s Royal Guard, plots to murder Kull and take his place on the throne.
Kull: The Conqueror Trailer
My brother purchased this some time ago of the internet and me being a Kevin Sorbo fanboy, since the days of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys I decided to give it a watch. I was thinking of doing a small review on it, but frankly there is nothing to review. LOL! This is your typical 90’s action movie with loads of action, violence, sex and nudity not to mention hot woman. This is brainless over the top entertainment at its best, and I can highly recommend watching this just for the above mentioned. Screw the plot holes and weak story this was action movies back in the 90’s.
And check out the end of the trailer: “Coming to VHS soon.” god I feel old…….
