So the second accessory that I got for my Nintendo Wii would be the Nyko Charge Station. It was getting lame having to replace and charge the batteries, since the time I spend playing Wii has doubled in recent weeks. Meaning that the amount of time my rechargeable batteries last has been cut in half. So rather investing in a more expensive set of batteries and charger I went shopping for a charge docking kit.

Yet again, Nyko impresses me with there design and workmanship. The base of the docking charger is solid and wont fall over, the same can be said about the cradle design for the Wiimotes. But what impressed me more was when I flipped over the charging station, the bottom of the charging station is rubberised to prevent slippage on smooth surfaces like tables and television stands.

The normal batteries now get replaced with a one unit battery pack which consists out of two NiMH batteries, exclusively designed for the Wii Remote each providing up to 25 hours of play time. Which is a hell of a lot more, than I got out of my normal rechargeables which was around 10 hours. Take note though that it takes two or three complete charges before battery reaches its full charging potential.

Another nice feature of the Nyko charge station is the fact that you get customized battery covers for your Wiimotes which makes the hassle of charging them so much easier. And as an added bonus they are rubberised, which makes them more comfortable to hold and avoids turning your Wiimote into a flying projectile.

And yes it looks pretty aesthetically pleasing (Whoa big word there, slowly does it) when both Wiimotes are charging on the Nyko charge station.
Nyko Charge Station for Features:
- Charge 2 Wii remotes simultaneously (Recharging of both batteries takes 4 hours)
- Includes 2 rechargeable NiMH battery packs (For almost 25 hours of playtime)
- LED Charge Indicator lights (Blue=Charging, Green=Charging Complete)
- Dual port rapid recharging dock
- 6 foot power cable
- Rubberized battery covers for superior gaming performance
I will definitely have to report back on the Nyko charge stations battery performance in a months time, as it is still early days. So stay tuned.
