I happen to appreciate Macross, Do You Remember Love, just as much as I appreciate Robotech. Both have value and truth be told, Robotech was very instrumental in introducing American audiences to Anime. Now as for the proposed Robotech movie in specific, I think, if executed properly, it will do great in the box office and in the after market. With the huge success of Transformers and then Iron Man, it was simply inevitable that Hollywood would grab every giant robot/mecha story they could possibly get their hands on. Robotech, being an iconic mecha anime, along with say Voltron, were logical choices to make in to live action films. At this stage, it is simply to early to tell though, if the film will indeed be a worthy adaption of the anime. Hopefully, they will put the proper amount of care in the crafting of the script, picking of the actors and directing of the story. I, for one, couldn’t disagree with the previous more.
