So after many years of faithful service I decided to lay my Toshiba to rest and buy myself a new High Definition LCD. So I went shopping around for a new HD LCD and realized that I am not as rich as I might think, or maybe I was aiming a bit high when I wanted a 40″. In any case after a couple of hours browsing through various audio/visual shops I finally had a choice between either Samsung or Sony. After much self debating I decided to go with the Sony 30″ S Series Bravia range, and at just under R7500 it was one of the best buys I have made since my Nintendo Wii. Casshern Sins is a remake of the 1973 classic anime series, the remake was announced at this year’s TAF. Production will be done by madhouse, with Shigeyasu Yamauchi as director, Yasuko Kobayashi doing series composition, and Yoshihiko Umakoshi doing character designs. In the original series, a group of robots created by Dr. Azuma go out of control when they determine that humans are harmful to the earth’s ecosystem.
After the robots have gained control of Earth, the doctor’s son, Tetsuya, decides to have himself turned into a cyborg for the purpose of defeating these robots and freeing mankind from their rule. I don’t know much else about this upcoming title, other than the Youtube trailer that has been posted online. I wonder if it is going to follow the original story or is it going to be a whole new series on its own. I guess we will have to wait and see, in the meantime go check out the trailer.
So while everyone is hyped about the 2008 Beijing Olympics well with the exception of me of course, as I would rather spend my time watching anime and playing games, than trying to be active or social in any kind of way. So in the spirit of the 2008 Beijing Olympics I bring you the Raving Rabbits.
On display are the first nineteen months of each consoles lifecycle. Red being the PS3, Green being the Xbox 360 and Blue the Nintendo Wii.
The Nintendo haters will be out in full force, after reading this one. Considering that most of their arguments were based on: A. It is a fad. B. 3rd party titles don’t sell.l C. Wii only caters for shovelware. They are now being rendered completely, and utterly useless by facts. Wonder what the Wii haters will pull out of there ass next I can speculate that it would go something like this:
What about hardcore games Nintendo these don’t count. I still win!
I can already see them changing there already used up line of arguments all over the internet. LOL!
A survey from Capcom is being sent out to a few select people. But there is two question on this survey that might be of interest to us Wii owners. Question fourteen asks, “What would make you want to purchase ‘Resident Evil 5′ more?” And wouldn’t you know it: One answer includes, “The release of a Wii version.” Now it is way to early to jump the gun and say Capcom is planning to port the game to the Nintendo Wii. But having said that this leaves the possibilities wide open. As Capcom has proven in the past that they are one of the best third party developers form the Nintendo Wii. With titles like Resident Evil 4, Zack & Wiki, Okami and now Dead Rising.
I usually only do one first impressions/mini review on the first episode of a new anime series, but on rare occasions I will go back and do one of another episode that impressed me. In this case the second episode of Xam’d Lost Memories, which by the way really left a serious impression on me after I finished watching it last night. And might I just add I think Studio BONES managed to produce a title that in my opinion might be even better than Eureka Seven, although it still might be a bit early to state something so boldly.
This is the prequel of My-Otome, which predates the events before the My-Otome Series. In this series, it focuses upon the origins of Lena Sayers, the mother of Arika Yumemiya and former bearer of Lofty Crimson Jade / Blue Sky Sapphire GEM, and Sifr Fran, the biological mother of Nina Wáng and the former queen of Windbloom Kingdom, as well as the origins of Schwartz, Aswad, and the Garderobe Academy and its Five Columns. The kidnapping of Sifr and the powerful revelation of Lena’s GEM will soon fatefully determine the outcome of the future for themselves and the others around them.
So after the announcement was made at E3 about Nintendo’s new piece of hardware Wiimotion Plus, people’s first reaction was why not include this in the original Wiimote. Well at that time the prototype was as big as a brick and the cost of producing it was just too high. The second thing people were worried about was the initial price tag, especially if you were the owner of four Wiimotes and you had to buy one for each remote. But yesterday Satoru Iwata made a comment about the cost of the WiiMotion Plus which puts all of our qualms to rest.
-Satoru Iwata Nintendo President - “There will be games that will be enhanced by the Wii Motion Plus as well as games that can only be played with it. Users will need four if they have four controllers, but we’re going to try to offer it for as little as possible. We haven’t announced the price yet, but the cost of making the Wii Motion Plus is not that much, so I think we can make it very affordable.”
I guess now we just have to wait and see if the developers are going to jump aboard with Nintendo and WiiMotion Plus. Ubsoft have already shown interest in developing Red Steel 2 using the new piece of hardware, and Wii Summer Sports is already utilizing the system.
Months before E3 rumors started flying around about the new Kid Icarus game being developed by Factor 5. There were also a bunch of unconfirmed reports, but nothing official. And most “core” gamers where hoping or expecting a announcement at E3, which never materialized. But there is a small glimmer of hope.
When asked if he was concerned about Kid Icarus since Factor 5 said their next game would be casual, Matt Casamassina replied with:
- Matt Casamassina - “That does concern me a little bit…I think we’ve said that, haven’t we [Factor 5 developing Kid Icarus]? If we haven’t said it, we’re saying it now…I mean come on, it’s no big secret to anybody.”
Personally I usually don’t consider most things official until I see some sort of press releases officially announcing the game . But this has been the closest “official” word we have had about the game in months, and this is perhaps the closest thing to a confirmation for the new Kid Icarus we will get for now.
So nothing really exciting ever happens on Anime Life And Everything Else, except the occasional death threats or marriage proposals from regular readers. Or so I thought, on Saturday evening I received the following e-mail:
Hi Larch,
My name is Thu and I work in the PR dept for SEGA. We were contacted by ESRB and told that we are violating rules/regulations since you have the SEGA Europe version of the MadWorld trailer posted on your site. We never released the trailer in the US so that’s one issue and another issue is that the trailer is not age gated on your site. Due to the graphic content of the trailer and to protect your readers, can you please pull down the trailer (I know it’s linked to YouTube)?
Also, just to let you know we will be releasing US trailers, starting with Leipzig, so please post those going forward. Your help on this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
